1. Make a new canvas, I chose 400 X 400, to have extra room to work with.
2. Now set your foreground color to: 3277EA, and your background color to: BFDFF9.
3. Now we're going to go to Filter-Render-Clouds.
4. Make a selection with your circular selection tool, holding down shift to make a perfect circle.
5. Now go to Filter-Render-Lens Flare, chose a style that suits your circle. I chose 100%/50-300mm Zoom.
6. Now go to Filter-Distort-Spherize, and choose 100%.
7. Now with your circle selected, go to Image-Adjustments-Brightness/Contrast. Now lower the brightness, you can choose whatever shade you like best, I chose -30.
8. That's all there is to it. You can add more lens flares, or even trap something in your orb if you like.
remember to keep the circle (marching ants selected throughout the process) and then deselect at the end.
